As part of a global team the candidate will need to develop productive working relationships with a geographically distributed team. You will have a key role working on a variety of tasks related to the development of our next generation Analytics user experiences, including the development of highly responsive application components for data visualization and data-intensive interactive reporting, and client-side integration of MSCI back-end applications and managing a team of passionate developers. You will be responsible for owning new features and services while also being involved in production deployments, coordinating with users, and conducting user-acceptance tests for seamless delivery. • Drive feature planning, design discussions and code reviews. • Ability to understand and extend existing MSCI systems, processes for efficient integrations. • Responsible for the entire lifecycle of some of the most critical systems in the firm. • Work autonomously and have the responsibility of operating, maintaining existing and creating new highly available distributed mission critical systems. • Test new innovative technologies before company-wide adoption. • Implement a new solution with the most recent technology stack. (ex. React, Typescript) • Support investigations of production incidents related to our system. • You will figure out ways to display and manipulate large amounts of data Your skills and experience that will help you excel • Proven experience driving the development of cloud-hosted scalable modern applications in an agile team setting. • Proficient in leveraging AI-assisted code generation tools to improve development velocity and code quality • You're proficient in Typescript, React, React Hooks and experience working with Python or Java based backends. • 8+ years of software development experience. • Bachelor's/Master's degree - preferably in computer science or related technical field. • Experience integrating with a REST-based service backend. • Hands-on skills with data structures, algorithms and web-oriented design principles. • Some experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, NoSQL, fault tolerant software and cloud-based applications is a plus. • You're familiar with distributed systems (prior exposure to the financial domain is beneficial). • You have a DevOps mindset and are ready to support a mission critical MSCI business. Some understanding of IT infrastructure architecture is a plus. • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud. • Good Communication
