Senior Python Engineer – RAG / LangGraph

Strictly W2 Only - No C2C Job Title: Software Development Engineer Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 Duration: 6 Months Contract Work Type: Hybrid ⚠️ Local candidates preferred

AI / RAG Platform Development (Primary) • Design and build production-grade RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for querying complex enterprise documents. • Implement: Hybrid search, Embeddings, Chunking strategies, Cross-encoder reranking, Multi-agent answer synthesis • Build intelligent systems for pharmaceutical / regulatory document extraction. OCR / Document Intelligence • Develop document processing pipelines using AWS Textract for: Tables , Handwritten text Structured forms, Certificates, Batch records • Improve structured data extraction accuracy from complex PDFs. Backend Engineering (90% Focus): • Develop backend systems using: Python, FastAPI, Async programming • Build: REST APIs, Streaming endpoints (SSE), Authentication, Background jobs, Logging / monitoring systems LLM Integration / Agentic AI • Integrate and orchestrate multiple LLMs such as: Claude, Gemini • Build use cases for: Intent classification, Data extraction, Validation workflows, Chatbot experiences, LangGraph agentic workflows Secondary Frontend (10%) • Support React / Next.js UI components such as: Chat interface, PDF viewer highlights, Progress tracking Must Haves • 3–6 years experience in software engineering. • Strong Python backend development experience. • Hands-on experience with: FastAPI, REST APIs, Async systems • Strong hands-on experience building: RAG pipelines, Chunking techniques, Embeddings, Retrieval systems, LLM integration experience. • Experience with: LangGraph / agentic AI workflows, Chatbot systems, System design / scalable backend architecture • Strong document parsing / extraction experience. ⚠️ Profiles missing Python + FastAPI + RAG + LLM experience may be rejected.
