Job Description
About Data Hatch Data Hatch is a UK-based agentic AI company building data platforms and AI products for mid-market clients in healthcare, insurance, and financial services. We're a Databricks partner shipping real production systems — including a data platform for a national healthcare group and an LLM-powered underwriting app for a Lloyd's of London coverholder. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to own the design and delivery of cloud-native data platforms across our client portfolio. You'll work directly with our Director of Architecture and CEO on engagements that blend modern data engineering with LLM and agentic AI workloads. Design and build production data platforms on Azure + Databricks Develop scalable pipelines in Python and PySpark with strong SQL across complex models Partner with ML engineers and architects on data foundations for LLM applications 5+ years in data engineering, with at least 2 years hands-on with Databricks • Strong Python and PySpark; fluent SQL; comfortable with complex transformations • Production experience on Azure (Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse a plus) • Solid grasp of medallion architecture, dimensional modelling, and data quality patterns • Clear written and spoken English — you will be in client-facing conversations • Healthcare, insurance, or financial services experience is a plus • Databricks certifications welcomed (we'll pay for more) 25-40 LPA, paid monthly in INR plus performance bonus • 100% remote — work from anywhere in India • Flexible hours with a UK overlap • 25 days paid leave + Indian public holidays • Annual learning and certification budget (Databricks, Azure, AI) • Hardware allowance • Real AI-native client work — no maintenance backlog, no legacy purgatory • Occasional travel to UK and EU client sites where it helps Send your CV and a short note on what makes you amazing — a project you're proud of, something you built that surprised even you, or the thing you do better than most engineers you know.
