Job Description
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Digital Designer who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow while supporting the evolution of our partners’ digital products and creative initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with designers, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to create user-centered, accessible, and visually engaging experiences. Our designers support a variety of projects and initiatives, which means priorities can shift quickly. Successful candidates are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, taking ownership of their work, and contributing ideas in a collaborative team environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, embracing new challenges, and continuously developing their skills while helping deliver high-quality design solutions.
Responsibilities
: • Apply a user-centered design approach under guidance of senior designers. • Assist in creating UX/UI deliverables from concept to high-fidelity. • Collaborate with designers, developers, QA, stakeholders. • Implement design direction from Senior Design team members. • Iterate designs based on feedback. • Follow design systems, style guides, and accessibility standards. • Assist with PowerPoint decks and visual storytelling. • Review designs for quality and consistency. • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs under guidance from senior designers. • Assist with user research, usability testing, and synthesis activities. • Apply accessibility best practices, including Section 508 and WCAG standards. • Participate in design reviews, critiques, and collaborative workshops. • Take ownership of assigned design tasks and drive them to completion with guidance from senior team members when needed. • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and contribute ideas during team discussions and design reviews. • Communicate design decisions, questions, and recommendations clearly to teammates and stakeholders.
Requirements
: • U.S. Citizen. • Ability to obtain a Federal Public Trust clearance. • 1–4 years of UX/UI experience. • Portfolio required. • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe CC, and similar tools. • Understanding of responsive design, usability and accessibility principles. • Basic understanding of user research methodologies and usability testing. • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies. • Comfortable asking questions, seeking clarification, and participating in collaborative discussions. • Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and proactively communicate progress and blockers. • Receptive to feedback and able to apply it constructively to improve designs and professional growth.
