Job Description
UX Researcher, Experience Design (XD) 6‑Month Contract Job Summary The UX Researcher will deliver embedded, pragmatic research that quickly identifies where experiences break down, what users need, and which improvements will drive measurable impact. This is a hands‑on, outcome‑driven role designed for speed and delivery acceleration. The work focuses on rapid discovery, usability audits, and continuous feedback loops that directly inform Experience Design (XD), Adoption Experience (AX). This is not an academic research role. Principal Duties and
Responsibilities
1. Rapid Discovery and Persona Foundations • Conduct lightweight discovery to validate key user segments and contexts, including field, and partner workflows. • Translate findings into practical personas, needs, and usage contexts. • Establish shared language for user goals, constraints, and success measures across teams. 2. Usability Audits and Quick‑Hit Recommendations • Perform usability and heuristic evaluations of priority tools and workflows to identify friction, confusion, and adoption barriers. • Deliver concise, prioritized recommendations that can be actioned quickly by XD teams. 3. Evaluation of In‑Flight Work (Build‑Aligned Research) • Run fast, iterative testing such as concept tests, moderated or unmoderated usability sessions, and prototype evaluations aligned to delivery timelines. • Provide evidence‑based guidance to reduce rework and ensure experiences are ready for adoption at launch. 4. Insight‑to‑Action Enablement • Translate research findings into clear, decision‑ready outputs, including insight briefs, opportunity statements, experience principles, and acceptance‑criteria inputs. • Partner closely with designers to ensure insights are reflected in flows, patterns, and design system decisions. 5. Adoption‑Informed Experience (in partnership with AX) • Collaborate with Adoption Experience (AX) to identify confidence, readiness, and behavior‑change risks early. • Help shape messaging, readiness activities, and reinforcement loops based on real user sentiment and observed barriers. 6. Research Operations (Lightweight and Practical) • Establish a simple cadence and repository for research learnings using tools such as Confluence so insights are reusable and not confined to meetings. • Define a lightweight research intake and prioritization approach aligned to Trade priorities.
